薫る花は凛と咲く | 自由が丘駅 西口 — The Place Between Meetings

Rintaro keeps arriving at the station with more to say than he can manage. In the anime, Jiyūgaoka Station becomes the model for Kōgaoka Station, the ordinary threshold between school, home, and the conversations he rehearses in his head. The west-side exit is compact and busy. People clear the gates, check their phones, and disappear into narrow streets while the next train is already arriving.

That everyday movement is what the animation elevates. Rintaro and Kaoruko do not meet in a secluded fantasy; they try to understand each other in a place that gives them only a few seconds before the crowd carries on. Stand just outside the west exit and watch how often someone slows down to look for a familiar face.
