Subaru calls Kaoruko to the park where they once played as children. She has already asked Rintaro to stay away, convinced that protecting her friend means choosing for her. In Episode 6, apology after apology cannot undo that mistake, so Kaoruko offers something smaller and kinder: for a moment, they can go back to how they were.

Kōgai Park is modest, edged by streets and neighborhood noise. That scale matters. The scene is not a grand reconciliation beneath cinematic monuments; it is two old friends sitting near the shape of their shared childhood and learning that care without trust can still wound. Stop at the park’s edge and listen until the traffic falls behind the rustle of the trees—the change is slight, but it is enough to make an honest sentence possible.
