The station is not treated as a destination. It is connective tissue—tracks overhead, shop signs, bicycles, commuters, and the quick decisions of people already moving through their day. For Mahiro, that background motion matters. Going out alone is still new, but desire has finally pulled harder than fear. The episode lets the city feel both ordinary and enormous before the arcade detour turns confidence into comic trouble.

Pause outside the south exit while a train passes above. Everyone around you already has somewhere to be. Mahiro’s small achievement was joining them without being pushed, carrying a private excitement into the public rhythm of the street.
