Episode 7 finds Mahiro no longer bracing against every part of middle-school life. Tests go wrong, games open unexpected friendships, and making cookies for Mihari turns an ordinary school week into proof that the second chance is becoming real. The Nakamurabashi pedestrian bridge appears within that settled rhythm—a route between one part of the day and the next rather than a grand destination.

That makes the structure an unusually honest piece of pilgrimage scenery. Steel stairs, guardrails, and traffic below are the architecture of passing through. Earlier in the series, leaving home required persuasion or a prize at the end of the trip. Here the neighborhood is simply part of Mahiro’s life again. The bridge holds the quiet interval in which school, friends, and family begin to connect.

Climb to the landing and look toward the streets around Nakamurabashi. Cars keep moving beneath your feet while the station district spreads out at eye level. The view measures Mahiro’s progress without announcing it: the outside world has changed from an obstacle into the way home.
