Episode 12 carries Mahiro and the others out of Tokyo and into deep snow for a one-night hot-spring trip. Takimikan sits above the Ginzan Onsen valley, close to Shirogane Falls, and becomes the group’s base while a casual holiday quietly turns into the season’s final decision.

The inn’s remove from the main gaslamp street matters. Arrival takes the friends beyond their usual school and neighborhood routines, into a place of robes, shared rooms, outdoor baths, and winter air. Mahiro is still being swept along by everyone else, yet the unfamiliar setting makes a difficult question impossible to postpone: whether to return to the old life or choose the self and relationships that have grown during these months.

From the approach to the inn, the town feels tucked below and the waterfall country begins ahead. That physical pause between road and lodging mirrors the episode exactly—a night away from home, held for a moment between what Mahiro was and what Mahiro will carry back.
