緑の駅名板を掲げた小さな改札の前で、第1話のユカはコウタを待つ。『エルフェンリート』が研究施設の惨劇から鎌倉の日常へ場面を切り替えるとき、その入口として描かれるのが江ノ電の極楽寺駅だ。[Anime Pilgrimageの地点一覧](https://www.animepilgrimage.com/ja/maps/anime/dVXVd9lm3POCaTrhbN8e/elfen-lied)は極楽寺駅を第1話の舞台として記録し、[現地での比較記録](https://habusan.hatenablog.jp/entry/2020/06/13/180734)も、桜の季節に二人が待ち合わせる駅前の構図を確認している。
江ノ島電鉄の[公式駅情報](https://www.enoden.co.jp/train/station/gokurakuji/)によれば、極楽寺駅は鎌倉市極楽寺3丁目7番4号のEN11。作品は駅名標、低い駅舎、改札まわりの狭さを使い、ユカとコウタの再会を「観光地の鎌倉」ではなく、線路と住宅地が近い生活の風景として始める。
掲載写真はLERKが2008年12月12日に撮影した旧駅舎の現地写真で、アニメ画像ではない。放送後には電話ボックスの撤去や駅舎の改修など駅前が変わったが、線路へ向かう短い動線と、木立に包まれた改札の小ささは、この場所が物語の入口に選ばれた理由を伝える。訪れるなら、昔の画面を完全に再現しようとするより、道路から一段高い改札へ続く石段を見てほしい。
記憶の日付は、[Bangumi subject 536](https://bgm.tv/subject/536)が記録するテレビアニメの初回放送日、2004年7月25日を示す。地図の印は駅の代表地点で、作画のカメラ位置を断定するものではない。
