People treat Dollar Tree as a Chesapeake discount house that always printed DLTR after a national chain was already built.
The 1995 issuer was still a regional one-price store group recently renamed from Only 1.00.
The company's investor FAQ records that common stock has traded on Nasdaq under DLTR since the initial public offering on 6 March 1995.
The company's own history page, and an archived history page from 2014, both state that Dollar Tree went public on Nasdaq in March 1995 at 15 dollars a share, with the market capitalization calculated at 225 million dollars in 1995 currency.
A 1998 Form S-3 later confirmed that an 8-A registration of the common was filed on 28 February 1995 and that the stock already traded on the Nasdaq National Market under DLTR.
Share count for the 1995 offering is not restated on those pages, so this pin does not invent one.
The mechanism is a single-price retail IPO. Holders bought a Virginia dollar-store book after the toy-chain sale had been converted into store growth, not a multi-banner chain that already owned Family Dollar.
The pin is the public facade of Nasdaq MarketSite at 4 Times Square, the later face of the electronic market that still prints DLTR. Interior studios are not a visitor floor.
