Biography|Anna Borg — Named Vattenfall's First Woman Chief in This House

The announcement was not a search from outside.

On 10 September 2020 Vattenfall published a press release naming Anna Borg president and chief executive, effective 1 November.

She was already the group's chief financial officer.

She would succeed Magnus Hall, who had said in July that he would leave.

Bloomberg the same day called her the first woman to lead the company founded more than a century earlier.

Vattenfall dates its origin to 1909.

The visiting address of the group headquarters is Evenemangsgatan 13 in Arenastaden, Solna.

OpenStreetMap records the office building at that number.

The board chair, Lars G Nordström, presented the appointment as an internal promotion of someone who had already helped set the group's direction.

The stated goal on the release was the company's existing line: fossil-free living within one generation.

She had been a Vattenfall employee from 1999 to 2015, then again from 2017.

Sales, markets, heat and the finance chair sat on the same official biography that the release summarised.

The building is a corporate headquarters in a public office district next to the national football arena.

It is not a private house.

A visitor finds a reception, not a historic turbine hall.

The decision that changed the name on the door was taken in 2020, in this office geography, and the start date that followed was 1 November.
