Biography | Ulf Widerström — Buried in the Woodland Cemetery at Djursholm

The last pin is not a works yard. It is a woodland graveyard in Danderyd.

Ulf Emanuel Widerström died on 18 March 2002. Swedish Wikipedia, following the biographical handbooks, records the date and states that he is buried at Djursholms begravningsplats.

The exact burial day is not in the printed notices consulted for this pin. The year and the ground are.

The cemetery lies at Altorp in northern Djursholm, taken into use in the 1890s and consecrated in 1904. It kept the pine slope rather than flattening it into lawns.

Lars Israel Wahlman's Altorp chapel was dedicated in 1938. A separate bell tower was added in 1961.

By 1981 Vem är det already listed Widerström as a director living in Cannes. The grave, though, came home to the villa town where his father, Consul General Karl Widerström, had been listed a generation earlier.

Djursholms begravningsplats is an active cemetery. Walk quietly, keep to posted hours, and do not photograph other mourners.

The stone is one among many on the ridge. Elsa Beskow, Alice Tegnér and Gösta Mittag-Leffler lie in the same wood. That company is not a ranking. It is the ground the parish kept.
