The name over the gate changed. The engineer did not leave.

On 1 December 2004 Bonus Energy A/S became Siemens Wind Power A/S.

The Danish company register records the rename.

Siemens Power Generation had agreed that autumn to buy Bonus, then about 750 people with headquarters in Brande.

Politiken reported the purchase as Siemens' way into wind.

Power Engineering International put the installed base at more than 5,000 turbines, about 3,300 MW, in over 20 countries, and annual sales near 300 million euros.

Bang had already taken global responsibility in the service business from 2003, after postings in Europe and the United States.

Finans noted that he followed the firm through the Siemens purchase and, a dozen years later, through the combination with Spanish Gamesa.

The Danish company took the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy A/S name on 10 August 2017.

The pin is Borupvej 16, the address on the register since 3 July 2002.

The older Fabriksvej 4 site stayed in the group as a production unit.

What Siemens bought was not only a factory. It was a service culture Bonus had kept through the 1980s slump, when other Danish makers failed.

Bang's later titles sat on that service line.

By 2011 the Danish workforce in the Siemens wind business had grown into the thousands. Brande remained the engineering and production core even after sales headquarters moved to Hamburg in 2009.
