Chen Jia-ling has a work presentation and nobody to leave the boy with, so the boy comes to the presentation. Tainan City's own filming-location map records the scene here, in the white folded building on Zhongyi Road, and it is the clearest picture the series gives of the life she has built and cannot quite hold together.

The café inside carries the other thread. This is where her father runs into Chu Ying, the girl he was in love with before any of the rest of it happened, and where Jia-ling loses track of the nephew and an umbrella in the same afternoon. The production's own credits thank the café for the assistance.

The building is loud in a way photographs flatten. A faceted white canopy sits over the whole thing and throws a moving lattice of hard-edged shadow across the plaza, and on a bright Tainan afternoon the glare off the white stone is genuinely difficult to look at directly. Inside it is a stack of white terrazzo stairs and half-levels, so you are constantly catching sight of other people through gaps, above and below you — which is an unhelpful building to be in if you are trying to keep track of a child.

Note the name change: it opened as Tainan Art Museum Building 2, which is what it was called when the drama shot here, and the city now lists it as Tainan National Art Museum. Both names will get you there.
