The road climbs through the long dark of Nakanokura Tunnel and then, without warning, the world opens. Lake Motosu appears, and beyond it the clean triangle of Mount Fuji fills the sky. This is the approach Rin took on her bicycle, the last stretch before the lakeside camp that would change everything. In the series the tunnel is the quiet threshold between ordinary road and the place where the first real camp begins. Walk or ride out of that darkness today and the same sudden view still waits. The pilgrimage feels the shift in light and air the moment the tunnel ends.
