第7話、小浜線の列車を降りた六花は、夏の光の中で家族の記憶へ連れ戻される。東美浜駅は一面一線の無人駅で、ホームには小さな待合所しかない。仲間との旅行はにぎやかなのに、この簡素な駅へ着いた瞬間から物語の重さが変わる。邪王真眼は遊びだけではなく、父を失った六花が現実と距離を取るための言葉だった。
ホームから見えるのは田畑と低い山、そして次の列車まで続く静けさだ。地元の観光資料にも、待合室の巡礼ノートへ全国のファンが言葉を残してきたことが記されている。書き込むなら次の人の余白を残し、列車を待つ人の席を塞がない。一本の列車が去ったあと、空になった線路を見れば、六花がこの場所で前へ進めなかった理由が風景の広さとして残る。
