電車の扉が開き、勇太は「普通の高校生」になるつもりでホームへ降りる。第1話の石山駅周辺は、その決意を毎朝の乗り換えへ落とし込む場所だ。JRの線路と京阪石山坂本線が隣り合い、改札の時計、短いホーム、踏切の警報音が通学の時間を細かく区切る。六花の邪王真眼がどれほど世界を塗り替えても、二人はまずこの町の電車に乗らなければ学校へ行けない。
駅前で構図を探すときは、人の流れを止めずに一度改札から離れる。電車が着くたび、学生と買い物客が同じ出口へ吸い込まれ、数分後には静かになる。その繰り返しこそ作品が拾った日常だ。発車ベルが鳴った瞬間、勇太の望んだ「普通」が、六花と出会うための背景だったことに気づく。
