Between the river path and the bridge sits Uji Shrine. Characters walk past its torii and stone approach on ordinary afternoons in the first episode. Nothing dramatic happens here. That is the point. It is simply part of the daily landscape the series returns to.
The shrine is quiet. The approach still matches the backgrounds. A short stop is enough to feel how carefully the town was drawn.
