The old tower house rises from the farmyard like a piece of the North that never left. In the pilot and early episodes this was Winterfell: the place where the Stark children practised archery, where Robert Baratheon arrived with his party, where the first threads of the story were laid. The National Trust estate still feels lived-in rather than staged. You walk the same cobbles, look up at the same stone, and the ordinary details of an 18th-century demesne on Strangford Lough suddenly carry the weight of a house that endured winter after winter. The set is long gone. The place remains.
