Esports | Brawl Stars | Nova Esports — The 3-0 Inaugural World Final at BEXCO Auditorium

On Saturday, November 16, 2019, Nova Esports and Animal Chanpuru sat down for the first Brawl Stars world final inside BEXCO Auditorium in Busan. The title was decided in a three-set sweep, 3–0 to Nova, at the end of a two-day tournament staged during G-Star.

Supercell ran the event for eight qualified teams from Europe, East Asia, Southeast Asia, North America, and Latin America, with $250,000 in total prize money. The championship used a single-elimination bracket; Nova advanced past Dr. HK and Tribe Gaming without dropping a set, while Japan’s Animal Chanpuru reached the final by completing a five-set semifinal comeback against Korea’s 3Bears.

Brawl Stars is a mobile three-versus-three action game, but a tournament set was not one isolated round. Each set used an assigned objective mode and map and was played as a short series of games, so the final’s 3–0 records three set wins rather than three character eliminations or three goals.

Nova’s all-British lineup was Spencer “SpenLC” Hendley, Thomas “Tom” McLaren, and Cerulean; Animal Chanpuru fielded Hagego, Milkreo, and Ponkotsu. Contemporary results record Nova’s clean final and the $90,000 first prize, with Animal Chanpuru receiving $60,000.

The public iOS/Android client during the event was in the late-October Brawl-o-ween production window, with Supercell’s November 6 balance changes already live. An Android release archive identifies public version 22.93, but Supercell did not disclose the final’s handset models, operating-system mix, server configuration, or any separate tournament build, so none is inferred here.

Supercell’s own recap calls Nova the first Brawl Stars world champions and places the finals in Busan as part of G-Star. An independent contemporary report names BEXCO Auditorium specifically and confirms the three-player winning roster, while a second match report records the 3–0 final against Animal Chanpuru.

The auditorium stands at 55 APEC-ro in Busan’s Haeundae district, separate from BEXCO’s larger exhibition halls. The photograph is a 2013 exterior view of that exact building, cropped to remove event and sponsor graphics; it does not depict the 2019 match.
