The Doctors|Ihwa Mural Village — The Hill House That Held the Grandmother

Ihwa-dong climbs Naksan in tight stairs and painted walls. In The Doctors this hillside is the house Yoo Hye-jung shares with her grandmother Chun Soon-hee, the one adult who never treated the girl's temper as a diagnosis. Location lists pin the domestic scenes to Ihwa-dong Village Museum and the lanes around 9-769 Ihwa-dong, Jongno-gu.

The village is public. You walk up from Hyehwa Station Exit 2 and the alleys start selling the same view the camera used: tiled roofs, a carp painted on a stair, Seoul stacked below the ridge. Other dramas have used the hill. This one used it as a kitchen and a sleeping room, not as a postcard.

Hye-jung leaves this slope as a student who fights teachers and comes back as a neurosurgeon who still owes the woman in the small house. The mural walls have been repaired and painted over more than once since 2016. The grade of the street has not. That climb is the part of the frame you can still trust.

Keep your voice down before ten in the morning. People live behind the murals. The pilgrimage is the lane, not a knock on the door that played a grandmother.
