Tale of the Nine Tailed|National Meteorological Museum — Afterlife Clears at Songwol-gil

The 1932 observatory sits under Inwangsan with a half-round porch and a small cylindrical turret. In Tale of the Nine Tailed this is the Afterlife Immigration Office, the front Lee Yeon walks when he still files souls as if they were weather. The interior desks were a set. The brick, the trees used as seasonal observation standards, and the slope off Songwol-gil are the building you can stand in.

The Korea Meteorological Administration left this compound in 1998. In 2020 the same rooms opened as the National Meteorological Museum, free, closed Mondays. Joseon rain gauges sit behind glass a few steps from the door that doubled as a bureaucratic afterlife. Cherry and maple in the yard are still the official trees Seoul uses to call first bloom and peak color.

Walk up from Seodaemun Station exit 4. The turret is the first thing you see. That is the shot. The mountain wall behind it does the rest.
