Crash Landing on You | Kleine Scheidegg — The Pass Under the Eiger

Kleine Scheidegg sits at 2,061 metres between the Eiger and the Lauberhorn. The Wengernalp Railway arrives from Grindelwald and from Wengen. The Jungfrau Railway leaves from here into the rock. In summer the platforms are full of packs and poles. In winter they are a ski junction. The north face of the Eiger is the wall you came to stare at.

Crash Landing on You films the Swiss mountain scenes around this pass and the trains that serve it. Yoon Se-ri and Ri Jeong-hyeok move through the same high ground that tourists have used since 1893. The drama needs a place where the air is thin and the three peaks — Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau — stand in a single line. This saddle is that line.

The station is public. You buy a ticket and you stand on the same platform the extras stood on. The wind comes off the glacier whether a camera is running or not.

Turn away from the souvenir windows and face the north face. That is the geography the series borrowed. The pass was here first.
