Crash Landing on You | Kleine Scheidegg — The Meeting Neither of Them Noticed

The epilogue of episode two. Two people stand at the same railing, look at the same mountains, say some version of "wow," and walk away without registering each other. Years before everything else in the series happens, Yoon Se-ri and Ri Jeong-hyeok were briefly six feet apart at Kleine Scheidegg and neither noticed.

It is a saddle at 2,061 metres between the Eiger and the Lauberhorn, and it exists mainly as a railway junction — the cog line from Grindelwald meets the one from Lauterbrunnen here, and the Jungfraujoch train goes on from the same platform. Most people pass through in twenty minutes with a ticket in hand.

Which is exactly the point of the scene, and worth doing deliberately: get off, let the connection go, and stay an hour. There are a couple of restaurants by the station and the north faces of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau are directly in front of you. Fallbodensee is a short flat walk if you want the reflection shot.

Practical: the Swiss Travel Pass does not cover this line, only discounts it, which surprises people budgeting a Jungfrau day. Late May or early October gives you fresh snow without the summer crowds.

Stand at the railing and look at what they looked at. The show's whole thesis is that a crash landing was needed to introduce two people who had already been in the same place at the same time and failed to see it — and standing here, watching a hundred strangers file past to catch a train, that stops feeling like a plot device.
