On 12 August 1994, the Rolling Stones opened a four-date engagement at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford. A tour schedule printed by the Times-News on 5 August listed the Meadowlands dates as 12, 14, 15 and 17 August; a New Jersey arts chronology independently gives the same four dates and names Counting Crows as opener. The interesting fact is not a set list or a crowd estimate. It is the calendar. This session began four performances in one football bowl across six days. That arrangement made the stadium more than a single-night spectacle: it became reusable tour infrastructure, holding one large production in place while tickets were sold for several separate sessions.

The booking belonged to an unusually dense stadium-concert year. Before Rolling Stones tickets had even gone on sale, Billboard reported that four Billy Joel–Elton John dates at Giants Stadium had sold $10 million in tickets in one day, a New York Ticketmaster record. Looking back the next year, Giants Stadium operations director Bill Squires told The Washington Post that the venue hosted 15 concerts in 1994 because so many stadium-scale acts were touring. Those sources do not disclose the Stones' settlement or production costs, so the economic reading here is deliberately limited: the four-date schedule shows how promoters multiplied use of the same bowl and booking window, not what any one night earned. Coordinate method: the pin at 40.812222, -74.076944 uses the published coordinates for the demolished Giants Stadium supplied by Visit Hudson. I cross-checked it against Waze's mapped center for present-day Lot E at 40.810375, -74.075571, about 236 metres away; the parking area occupies the former stadium zone. Because the building was demolished in 2010 and these two independent map references describe a footprint and a parking zone rather than a surviving entrance, treat this as a 250-metre precision radius.
