Esports|Free Fire|Phoenix Force — The 113-Point World Final at Sands Expo

Inside two closed-door halls at Sands Expo and Convention Centre on 30 May 2021, twelve squads entered the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore Finals with a world title decided by one evening’s accumulated score. Free Fire’s Squad Battle Royale put four players from each team onto a shrinking survival map, where teams earned points both for their finishing position and for kills rather than advancing through a conventional head-to-head bracket. Garena’s Finals format comprised six rounds across Bermuda, Purgatory, and Kalahari, so a “Booyah”—the game’s name for surviving to win one round—was valuable without automatically deciding the championship. Phoenix Force represented Thailand with the registered lineup D_Long, Joena, TheCruz, Rambo, Zeenon, and Lukz, with four competitors able to occupy a team station in a round. Across the six rounds, Phoenix Force collected four Booyahs and 48 kills, producing 113 points; that was 36 more than Brazil’s LOUD on 77, while the CIS representative Silence placed third with 73. Piyapon “TheCruz” Boonchuay recorded 23 kills and received the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award, while the team result became Thailand’s first victory in the Free Fire World Series. Official event materials identify the title as Garena’s original Free Fire mobile client, a game developed and published globally for Android and iOS; the current release was the “World Series” patch issued on 14 April 2021, corresponding to OB27 and Android version 1.60.1, rather than a later Free Fire MAX competition. The publisher-run championship brought 18 teams from 11 regions to Singapore across its Play-Ins and Finals, with the decisive stage played physically at Sands Expo rather than remotely or at Garena’s office. Marina Bay Sands records that the production occupied two exhibition halls, each team’s gaming area using synchronized LED panels and platforms accommodating up to four teams, while pandemic controls kept spectators away from the site. The convention centre remains at 10 Bayfront Avenue, where the expo entrance and long public corridors identify the building that contained the final even though this photograph predates the match and does not show the competition itself.
