Before heading to Himeji Castle, I took a leisurely stroll through the city and discovered Kyowa Dori—a long, bustling shopping street that perfectly captures the local atmosphere. Kyowa Dori stretches out from the area near Himeji Station, offering a lively introduction to the city. The street is lined with a variety of shops, from fashion boutiques and shoe stores to florists, drugstores, and specialty gift shops. There are also plenty of eateries, cozy cafes, and even unique spots like a Hello Kitty café and a multi-story Daiso 100-yen shop. The covered walkway makes it easy to explore regardless of the weather, keeping you dry on rainy days and shaded in the summer.
