Kobe- Sannomiya Station

I arrived at Kobe Sannomiya on a truly beautiful day, with the city bathed in sunlight and full of life. As soon as I stepped out of the station, I was greeted by the vibrant energy that defines Sannomiya—the heart of Kobe. People of all ages bustled along the busy streets, weaving between the modern shopping arcades, stylish boutiques, and inviting cafés that line the area. Looking around, I could see why Sannomiya is considered the center of Kobe’s sightseeing and culture. To the north, the city rises toward the green slopes of Mt. Rokko, while to the south, the streets gently slope down toward the sparkling waterfront and the iconic bay area. The city’s cosmopolitan character is unmistakable—Western-style architecture, trendy restaurants, and department stores blend seamlessly with traditional shrines and local shops.

It felt like the whole city was on the move, yet there were plenty of spots to pause and soak in the atmosphere. Whether it was families heading to the shopping arcades, friends gathering at cafés, or travelers like me setting out to explore Kobe’s sights, Sannomiya was alive with possibility and excitement. The perfect weather only added to the sense of anticipation for the adventures ahead.
