After strolling downhill to Kobe Sannomiya, I stopped by the ever-popular Sukiya—a staple of Japanese fast food culture. Sukiya is famous for its *gyudon*, or beef bowl: thin slices of beef and onions simmered in a savory sauce and served over rice. The menu is impressively diverse, featuring not just the classic beef bowl but also creative variations with toppings like kimchi, melted cheese, or grated daikon with ponzu. For those craving something different, there are also Japanese curries, chicken bowls, and set meals with miso soup and pickles. The service was quick, the prices were easy on the wallet, and the food delivered that comforting, authentic Japanese flavor.
