Metablox + Kumite = Perfect

This is the launch party for Kumite NFT, founded by Gareb Shamus (Founder of Comic Con) and Scott Donnell (Successful Serial Entrepreneur). Even during a crypto-winter, they sold out and became the number 1 NFT project based on trading volume for many days.

The Metablox team was invited because I was one of the founding designing consultants for Kumite’s company: HeroMaker. 

My connection to the Kumite team goes way back. I met Scott Donnell through a Christian Leadership group called Leadership X, and kept in light touch. Years later he wanted to apply gamification and intricate game loops into two of his companies so reached out to me. 

My Octalysis Group colleague Felipe Munoz-Jaramillo and I helped apply our 5-Step Design Process to increase engagement and allow anyone to apply Core Drive 1: Epic Meaning & Calling within the Octalysis Framework to their lives and heroes.

So when the Metablox Team was in New York for NFT.NYC, Jun Loayza, Dara Goncalves and Joseph Graves went to this very cool rooftop party with swimming pools called Mr Purple.

We had a good time with Scott Donnell and Gareb Shamus. Scott told me that there were some huge setbacks during the mint that could have caused Kumite to be a failure, but with his earnest prayers everything worked out.

The Metablox Team still enjoys our Kumite NFTs that we minted, besides Joseph who couldn’t get in in time. I promised to give him one of my Kumite NFTs, so hopefully as this memory lives forever on the blockchain, I eventually fulfill my promise.
