Chinese pavillion in the garden

Another dream island of mine; and another tribute to my brother (deceased) who always designed his gardens with original natural elements.

Chinese gardens have long been revered for their beauty and tranquility. But what many people don't realize is that these gardens are also deeply rooted in spirituality. For Chinese gardeners, nature is not something to be conquered or controlled. Instead, they see it as an immense and ever-changing force that must be respected and harmonized with.

They have been influenced by Confucian and Taoist philosophy, specifically their beliefs in yin-yang mystical concepts like "opposites attract."

The new generation wants nothing more than sustainable living fueled exclusively off grid. They believe that balance can be achieved through pairing opposites, such as water with stone or plant life to form an ideal environment for contemplation in nature's beauty—a microcosm within four major elements: earth (soil), humanity / animals; wind--air itself doesn't exist without these two forces interacting somehow! In this way they offer us a glimpse into what it means when we say something has been " harmonized."

As more people become interested in regenerative living, Chinese gardening may provide an important model for sustainable land management. They are also places of peace and reflection, where we can connect with the natural world in a more meaningful way.
