OP Hero Profile: from bullied and broke to top of the world - the Existential Innovator

Our next OP Hero, an embodiment of Step 4: Enhance Your Abilities, is a widely recognized and respected figure whose impact spans across society.

Let us delve into the captivating story of a young boy from Pretoria, South Africa - a tale often misconstrued by popular media. Despite facing loneliness and persistent bullying, his unyielding curiosity for the world remained steadfast from an early age. This innate curiosity propelled him on a remarkable journey of knowledge acquisition, transforming him into an innovator driven by the pursuit of extending human existence and preserving the light of consciousness in this universe.

This figure among all giants, began his Life Game with a Mission (Step 1) that extended naturally from his insatiable curiosity: Uncovering the Truth of the Universe. But exceeding any other human being in this regard, he utilized his unique Attributes (Step 2) and acquired a vast variety of synergetic Abilities (Step 4) to become what we consider the highest level player alive on the Earth Server today.

From the tender years of his childhood, our OP Hero was quite introverted and preferred to spend time alone reading books. His realm was one of science fiction novels and comic books, where a future among the galactic stars was an inevitability.

His very first Quest (Step 6) was to read as many books from the library as possible. Remarkably, by the age of nine, his insatiable thirst for knowledge outpaced both his school’s and his community’s library resources, leading him to petition the school to add new books.

It was during this period that our OP Hero read the entire Encyclopedia Britannica, a compendium brimming with over 40 million words spread across 32,000 pages. This Quest powered him up through his distinct set of synergistic Attributes (Step 2): Intellectual Curiosity, Learning Agility, Logical Intelligence, Learn-Use Conversion, and Comprehensive Recall.

These qualities not only facilitated rapid learning but also the amalgamation and practical application of the acquired knowledge. They became the underpinning forces of his intellectual prowess, enabling him to absorb, synthesize, and harness information in a manner that is rarely matched by others amongst his species.

Unfortunately, akin to Saitama - the fictional character from “One Punch Man” who could defeat every opponent with ease and boredom - our young OP Hero found that, despite having overwhelming powers, navigating his social environment and climbing the social hierarchy were extremely challenging.

During his school years, he frequently found himself on the harsh receiving end of playground bullies. On one notable occasion, he boldly stood up against classmates who were propagating racial slurs, which then was met with a brutal beating.

Sometimes the beatings would be so bad that he would be in the hospital for two days. The consequences of these beatings were so severe it caused his nose to be fractured and caused him to go through surgery to fix it thirty years after he left Pretoria.

Unfortunately, the physical torment was but a fraction of the profound loneliness and isolation that consumed him. The bullies didn't limit their actions to him; they also targeted his best friend and forced the friend to stop hanging out with him. Moreover, they coerced this friend to betray our OP Hero, luring him out of hiding into another harsh beating. This emotional wound cut deeply into his psychological state as he lived his school days rotating between evading bullies, enduring beatings, and suffering betrayals from people he considered close with.F

During this time, he was simply the right Player in the wrong Game, like Mega Man struggling in a Mario 64 world. As you will see later on, Elon Musk proactively tried to solve this problem by changing his environment multiple times.

At home, things weren't much better. When he was just eight years old, his parents separated, which eventually led to a divorce. For the first two years, our OP Hero and two younger siblings lived with his mother. This mother of three struggled so much financially that she had to balance an exhausting array of five jobs merely to ensure the family's basic needs were met. On one particularly heartbreaking day, one of the children accidentally spilled their milk, and she reportedly broke down in tears as she couldn't afford to replace the milk until her next paycheck arrived.
