Tsutenkaku again!

I returned to Tsutenkaku, the iconic tower in Osaka’s Shinsekai district, and this time, I took the elevator up to the observation deck to capture the city from above. It was a different experience seeing Osaka from that height—sprawling, vibrant, and full of life.
Tsutenkaku, which means "Tower Reaching Heaven," has been a symbol of Osaka since it was first built in 1912. Inspired by both the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, the original structure stood proudly until it was damaged by fire and dismantled during World War II. The current tower, rebuilt in 1956, stands at 103 meters and continues to shine as a nostalgic beacon of Osaka's post-war revival.
From the top, I could see a stunning panorama of the city—rooftops stretching into the distance, the curve of the highways weaving through the skyline, and the mix of old and new architecture that defines Osaka. The view reminded me just how massive and dynamic the city is. It felt like standing at the crossroads of history and modern life, with Shinsekai’s retro charm below and the city’s modern heartbeat pulsing beyond.
