The HIKE

The island of Sint Maarten/Saint Martin, Loterie Farm, September 9th 2010. We decide to go on a hiking trip with our two boys, then 3 and 8 years old. The lady in the booth tells us it's suitable for young kids. Only to discover, halfway up, that we had to climb over boulders, and it was quite steep. Too afraid to go back whence we came, we continued on; me helping my oldest son (first picture) and my husband helping our three-year-old. We somehow reached the top (not the highest peak, mind you), to find this beautiful view (second and third picture). To this day, we love to reminisce about "THE HIKE". As you can see from the colour of my pants, I was expecting a leisurely stroll.
