After the peaceful break at the Fujita Museum café, the mood shifted completely as the craving for seafood kicked in. The guide’s offhand comment about Tenjibashi having good seafood stuck in my mind, so I let that be my compass for the afternoon. I followed the flow of people into the long Tenjibashisuji shopping street, with its endless arcades, bright signs, and the comforting buzz of locals going about their day.

Eventually I spotted what I was looking for: a branch of Sushiro, the classic conveyor-belt sushi chain. Stepping inside felt like walking into a compact sushi control center. I was shown to a solo counter seat, partitioned on both sides, with my own tablet screen, hot water tap, and stacks of colourful plates waiting to be filled. Around me, plates glided past on the belt, and the kitchen staff called out orders in the background.

Ordering was half the fun. I scrolled through the tablet menu, tapping on whatever looked good—grilled cuts of fish, creamy seafood gunkan, and some special seasonal items—then watched as my plates zoomed straight to my seat. Bit by bit the stack of yellow and maroon plates grew taller, a quiet record of how much I was enjoying myself. Between bites of warm, vinegared rice and fresh, slightly charred toppings, I sipped on hot green tea and just soaked in the rhythm of the place.

It was an everyday Osaka moment, but that made it special: alone at the counter, surrounded by chatter, with Tenjibashi’s energy just outside and a mini sushi feast in front of me. This simple conveyor-belt meal ended up being one of the most satisfying seafood stops of the trip, and a perfect contrast to the calm, art-filled atmosphere of the Fujita Museum earlier in the day.
